HALL OF RECORDS COMMISSION

The Hall of Records Commission is an ex-officio body created by
Chapter 18, Acts of 1935. The members of the Commission and their
offices are as follows:

Chief Judge, Court of Appeals:

HONORABLE OGLE MARBURY, Chairman.............Laurel

Governor:

HONORABLE WILLIAM PRESTON LANE, JR......... Annapolis

Comptroller of the Treasury:

HONORABLE JAMES J. LACY.....................Baltimore

President of the St. John's College:

MR. JOHN S. KIEFFER...........................Annapolis

President of the Maryland Historical Society:

HONORABLE GEORGE L. RADCLIFFE ............... Baltimore

President of the Board of the Peabody Institute:

DR. J. HALL PLEASANTS........................ Baltimore

President of the Johns Hopkins University:

DR. ISAIAH BOWMAN .......................... Baltimore

There were no changes in the membership of the Hall of Records
Commission during the fiscal year 1948. No meetings were held, but
the Chairman and the Vice-Chairman, Dr. Pleasants, were consulted
whenever a change in personnel became necessary. In addition, the
entire Commission was polled by mail when the Hall of Records was
asked to edit the 1948-49 edition of the Maryland Manual; and the
Chairman and Vice-Chairman were asked whether we should assume
temporary responsibility for the Division of Information as Governor
Lane had requested.
